Potluck Privacy Policy

Potluck respects your privacy. This page explains what information the app collects, how that information is used, and where to direct privacy or support requests.

Information we collect

  • Account details such as email address, username, display name, and profile settings.
  • Challenge, social, and messaging activity you create inside Potluck.
  • Step-count data that you explicitly authorize through Apple Health or Health Connect.
  • Technical and diagnostics data such as device type, app version, crash data, and logs used to keep the service working.
  • Ad-related consent and delivery signals required to show monetized ads in supported app surfaces.

How we use information

  • Provide accounts, challenge features, chats, notifications, and support.
  • Calculate progress, standings, rewards, and other app-specific outcomes.
  • Secure the app, investigate abuse, and fix reliability issues.
  • Measure feature performance and improve the experience over time.
  • Serve and measure ads where monetization is enabled, subject to user choices and applicable platform rules.

Health and sensitive data

  • Potluck only accesses health permissions that you grant.
  • Health data is used to power app functionality such as step tracking and is not used to build advertising profiles.
  • You can revoke health access at any time in your device settings.

Sharing

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We share data with service providers that help operate infrastructure, authentication, analytics, notifications, and advertising.
  • Other Potluck users may see the profile and activity you choose to share through challenges, chats, and related social features.
  • We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the service, or our rights.

Retention and choices

  • We retain information for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, and protect against abuse.
  • You can update profile information in the app, manage ad privacy choices in supported builds, or request account deletion by email.
  • Deactivation and deletion are different actions. Deactivation hides your profile; deletion is a permanent support workflow.

Advertising

Potluck may use Google AdMob or similar providers to deliver ads in supported app surfaces. Those providers may receive identifiers, device details, and ad interaction events needed to serve and measure ads under their own policies. Potluck does not use health data for advertising personalization.
